Call for Papers has now closed. This page is here for reference only.

An OpenOffice.org Impress template is available for your presentation. We would like to make your presentation and or paper available on the OOoRegiCon website at the conclusion of event. Please send your presentation or paper to Jacqueline McNally prior to travelling to OOoRegiCon, so that it may be posted to the web site.

We are inviting OpenOffice.org users and developers to send in abstracts for formal and lightning talk sessions for OOoRegiCon North America.

Suggested topics are:

Lightning talks and formal sessions of 30 minutes are desired to fill our schedule for Wednesday 9 February from 1200 to 5.00 pm.

Formal sessions will run for 30 minutes including Q&A and all materials should be submitted in OpenOffice.org format. Lightning talks will be limited to 5-10 minutes including setup time for any technical equipment.

Lightning talks are presentations where the speakers only get a very short, strictly limited amount of speaking time, see: http://www.perl.com/pub/a/2004/07/30/lightningtalk.html

Speakers will receive a free pass for the full Desktop Linux Summit.

Some travel assistance may be available for worthy speakers not otherwise able to attend. If you require travel assistance you must indicate so on your submission. In general we do not provide full funding for international travel.

Please submit an abstract (not to exceed 250 words) of your session to
callforpapers@openoffice.org

The acceptance deadline for abstracts is December 10, 2004. The final agenda will be defined and communicated by the selection committee by December 17, 2004.

All speakers at the Desktop Linux Summit, including OOoRegiCon North America, will need to complete Linspire's Speaker Release Agreement
